This semester 11 seniors in Instructor Yvette Bueno Olson's Multicultural Health Communications class are putting together a health fair for Bayaud Enterprises. The service learning project will help prepare those about to graduate and give them some real world experience for their resume.

Redline, in Curtis Park, is the collaboration of many talented and dedicated Denverites -- including Margaret Woodhull, director of the Master of Humanities program and Redline board member, Louise Martorano, a graduate of the Master of Humanities program and deputy director and Chad Kautzer, a philosophy professor who is curating RedLine signature's show for this season on homelessness.

The Department of Communication celebrated its fourteenth annual Communication Days, April 1-9, 2013. During this nine-day exploration of the complex roles of communication in our everyday lives and communities, more than twenty of Denver’s leading communicators shared their knowledge with our classes.

On Friday, March 8, 2013, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences hosted a panel discussion titled, "The Road to Independence and Beyond." Twelve panelists, including retired faculty and staff members, alumni and current students, told stories and remembered the history of CU Denver.

The Communication department and the Denver office of Ogilvy, and international advertising, marketing and public relations agency, will supervise a public relations case competition for U.S. and Chinese students enrolled in CU Denver’s International College Beijing program this term.

In 2013 the university is proudly celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of CU Denver. In this article Robert Damrauer, special assistant to the provost and professor of chemistry; Michael Cummings, a political science professor; and Jarett Zuboy, a masters student in history assisting the CLAS Dean's Office with collecting and writing up a history of the University, are among those tasked with telling our story. While you will be hearing much more in the months to come about the 40th Anniversary of CU Denver, (look for an Anniversary themed April issue of Pinnacle) this article from the Denver Post helps kick off the celebration!
